The goal of this project was to overhaul an aging daycare outdoor area, replacing outdated structures with a modern, high-functioning play environment. The focus was on safety, accessibility, and durability, ensuring the new space met modern standards while providing a stimulating atmosphere for children.

A successful play environment begins with proper site preparation. Our team managed the full lifecycle of the renovation, including:

• Site Preparation & Demolition: Careful removal of the existing, non-compliant play structure and select asphalt sections to create a clean slate for the new design.
• ADA-Compliant Upgrades: Installation of precision-poured concrete pads designed to meet ADA accessibility standards, ensuring the facility is inclusive for all children and staff.
• Smart Surface Integration: We utilized a blend of Decomposed Granite (DG) for high-traffic walkways and specialized playground bark for impact-cushioning in active play zones.
• Custom Greenery: Handcrafted planter boxes were added to introduce nature into the play area, providing opportunities for educational "garden moments."
• Infrastructure & Drainage: Beneath the surface, we installed a comprehensive drainage system to prevent standing water, keeping the play area dry and usable shortly after rainfall.

The result is a vibrant, multi-textured environment that prioritizes child safety without sacrificing design. By replacing cracked asphalt with compliant concrete and soft bark, the facility now offers a professional, inviting space that meets all regulatory requirements and provides a much-needed upgrade to the daycare’s daily operations.
