The objective for the Woodland Memorial Hospital project was to move beyond traditional commercial landscaping. The goal was to transform a high-traffic healthcare environment into a functional "healing garden." By integrating natural textures and thoughtful seating, we aimed to provide a sanctuary where hospital staff can decompress and visitors can find a quiet moment of solace.

This large-scale commercial installation required a balance of heavy-duty durability and aesthetic softness. Our team executed a comprehensive redesign involving:

• Custom Hardscaping: Installation of custom concrete benches and statement moss rock boulders to provide natural seating and visual weight.
• Water-Wise Features: A decorative dry creek bed was integrated to offer texture and visual interest without the maintenance of a standing water feature.
• Precision Edging: Steel bender board edging was used to create crisp, permanent lines between the Decomposed Granite (DG) paths and the lush sod areas.
• Living Elements: A full-scale tree installation and fresh sod, supported by a newly engineered high-efficiency irrigation system to ensure long-term sustainability.

The finished landscape serves as a vital extension of the hospital’s care mission. The combination of organic elements, like the moss rock boulders and dry creek, with modern industrial materials creates a space that feels both grounded and permanent.
