For the Yolo Federal Bank project, the priority was to create a professional, "clean-line" exterior that reflects the institution’s commitment to the community and environment. The site required a transition from high-maintenance traditional landscaping to a modern, water-wise design that remains vibrant and manicured year-round with minimal water usage.

Commercial bank sites often feature complex utility infrastructure that can be an eyesore. Our design focused on integrating these elements into a cohesive, intentional landscape:

• Dry Creek Bed Integration: We installed a tiered river rock and cobble dry creek feature. This serves a dual purpose: it provides a high-texture visual focal point and manages site runoff during the rainy season without requiring a traditional water feature’s maintenance.
• Drought-Tolerant Softscaping: A curated selection of low-water shrubs and ornamental grasses were installed, providing year-round green tones that complement the bank's architecture.
• Utility Masking & Security: Strategic plant placement and rock work were used around utility boxes and ATMs to soften their appearance while maintaining clear lines of sight and easy access for technicians and bank customers.
• Premium Ground Cover: We utilized high-quality bark mulch to provide a clean, high-contrast backdrop. This not only suppresses weeds but significantly reduces evaporation, keeping the soil cool and moist for the newly installed plants.

The transformation has provided Yolo Federal Bank with a high-performance landscape that requires significantly less water and manual labor to maintain. The "curb appeal" has been elevated through the use of organic textures—like the moss rock boulders and cobble creek—creating a welcoming environment for bank members and a sustainable footprint for the property.
